Kia Soul hamsters commercial is back!

Kia Soul is back and so are the popular hamsters!

Remember the cute Kia commercial hamsters? They're back. Like a blockbuster Hollywood film returning strong with a sequel, the award-winning KIA advertising campaign gets a Part Two, titled "This or That".

Once again, Kia Motor America's advertising agency of record, David&Goliath, creates "This or That", an adorable TV ad for the Kia Soul. The endearing TV ad is what the Kia Soul is all about. It is a unique urban passenger vehicle that can easily be personalized by its owner. The creative, MTV-ish TV commercial rocks to the hip-hop groove of "The Choice is Yours" soundtrack by the popular 90's hip-hop group, Black Sheep.

The new Kia Soul commercial was launched on cable TV Networks Comedy Central, Fuse, MTV, MTV2, and Spike, and will be aired until the end of July. It will also be played in movie theaters across the country beginning May 28 as well as online at Pandora, Facebook, Social Vibe’s Petville, Kia.com, and YouTube.

Michael Sprague, marketing vice president of Kia Motors America, explains why they brought back the hamsters. "Given the success and popularity of the hamsters in the initial Soul launch with a spot that won Nielsen's Automotive Ad of the Year, it made sense to bring them back for a new campaign,” Sprague said.

"We know the Soul target audience is digitally savvy and that they viewed the first commercial multiple times online, so the newest experience is rich with details in the hamster world and integrated Soul content for them to discover during repeat viewings."

This time it's a full-blown campaign that includes "Hamstar(TM)" logoed clothing that may be purchased by fans at www.hamstarclothing.com. Who knows what else KMA can come up with – action figures, hamster dolls?

Here's a teaser (if you are among the few who may have not seen the "This or That" commercial yet at this time). You will see our oversized hip-hop hamsters in hood behind the wheel of an Alien Green Kia Soul. They pass along city streets dancing, grooving, and singing, "You can get with this" – pointing to the shiny Kia Soul, "or you can get with that?" – pointing to un-cool hamsters trying to ride giant toasters, washing machines, and cardboard boxes.

Even without researched facts to prove it, the adorable hamsters may have had a lot to do with Kia Soul's success. The modern, techno-savvy Soul had received several awards such as one of the "Best Family Cars for 2010" by Edmunds.com and Parents Magazine, the "Best Hatchback of 2010" by Cars.com, one of the "2010 Top Cars for Families" by Motherproof.com, and just recently, one of the 2010 "Top 10 Coolest New Cars Under $18,000" from Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com.

Hamsters play the main role in Kia's Soul commercial

Kia Motors America has launched a very cool video commercial at the beginning of April. To promote it's stylish new Soul crossover the company has teamed up with David & Golliat advertising agency and they together launched an add that showcases Kia Soul crossover and a bunch of giant hamsters riding down the street. Giant hamsters driving a car? That's right, giant hamsters play the main role in the latest Kia video commercial.

The latest Kia Soul commercial ad depicts a computer-generated Levitton populated by hamsters. As the rodents spin in place on their hamster wheels, waiting for the traffic light to change, the drudgery of their gridlocked exercise is suddenly interrupted by the arrival of a red Kia Soul. When the car pulls up to the intersection, the passenger-side window rolls down to reveal a posse of three giant hamsters while listening to the cool music and moving their heads with the beats coming out of front door speakers. Obviously the giant hamsters are clearly enjoying their ride.

The Kia Soul commercial has been aired to the US consumers through different media such as cinemas, cable tvs. The ad is specially targeting younger people, so the carmaker has also lined up a major integrated sponsorship, buying time on the MTV Movie Awards, Discovery Channel and Comedy Central.

There have been five essentially the same Kia Soul commercials aired through various networks so far, but each of them has featured a different artist and played a different song. All of the songs proved to be very popular among targeted audience - Y-gen consumers. Songs that can be heard in the Kia Soul commercials are performed by popular artists including MARZ ft. Pack and Mumiez, The Potbelleez, Goldfish, Calvin Harris and MSTRKRFT feat. N.O.R.E.

2010 Kia Soul

Kia Soul
has been first introduced as a concept car at the 2006 Detroit Auto Show. Positive reaction from the auto show visitors have encouraged Kia officials to go ahead with the Soul project and bring the vehicle to reality.

In 2008, Kia surprised us with a trio of Soul conecpts indicating the production-ready Soul model will soon be released. Kia Soul Burner, Diva and Searcher each featured it's own "soul". Underneath their wildly different surface treatments, they were all the same vehicle.

Coated in black satin paintwork, the Soul Burner was pronounced as a bad boy of the three. It has been equipped with large 18-inch wheels and featured dragon tattoos over it's body. The front bumper of the Soul Burner featured LED technology equipped head-lamps, while at rear there were two vertical exhaust pipes integrated into the bumper.

The Kia Soul Searcher featured different exterior lay-out with leather finish on the bonnet and folding roof. The leather has been also applied to the tailgate panel and the dashboard.

The Kia Soul Diva has been created as a fashion accessory for a style-conscious young-at-heart woman. It was like a supermodel with an aura of glamour, a bit flashy but playful and fun!

A few months after the concept introduction Kia unveiled it's production ready 2010 Kia Soul. The Soul has just gone on sale across the world and has already posted some strong sales results. Thanks to the effective advertising campaign and great Kia Soul commercial songs, the model has become very popular in the US and Canadian market, while in Europe Kia already sold more than 5000 units.

Speaking of Kia Soul commercial songs, there are five different songs played in the funny Kia Soul commercial
, that showcases giant hamsters driving the Soul and listening to the music. Songs are performed by popular musicians such as MSTRKRFT, GoldFish, Marz, Calvin Harris and The Potbelleez.

The all-new Soul crossover comes available with three four-cylinder engines. The smaller one has a displacement of 1.6L and produces 128 horsepower, while larger 2.0L generates 142 horsepower. In Europe, the Soul is also available with a 1.6L diesel engine that generates the same amount of power as a gasoline powered unit.

Like many of its established competitors, including the Scion xB or Honda Element, Soul's appearance can change dramatically, depending on which wheels, color combos and dealer accessories an owner chooses. There are over 60 different accessories available for the 2010 Kia Soul.
